I’M GETTING MARRIED! Makeup Inspo

I have actually been engaged for a year now. COVID really elongated our initial wedding timeline. While at first that was incredibly annoying, in some ways, it’s been a blessing. We’ve kind of given up on having complete control of the situation, which has really made wedding planning fairly stress free. We know that things a bound to change and we need to be flexible, so we kind of just go with the flow these days.

One thing I do have control over: MY MAKEUP!

I plan on doing my own makeup on the day. I’ve had my makeup done a few times before and never really loved it. I may change my mind down the road, but for now I think I want to do it myself. I love doing my own makeup and find it incredibly relaxing to get to take my time and really play around with makeup. That being said, I’m not exactly sure how I want to have my makeup look on the big day.

I have two ideas: Ethereal or Chic & Modern

Let’s start with ethereal. I want to look the most romantic I’ve ever looked. High shine, flowing hair, glossy lips, juicy skin. Very youthful. I do more toned down versions of this all the time, but for my wedding I really want to amp things up. Really pack on the bright shimmers on the lids with the dramatically long wispy lashes.

The second look that I am considering is a much more chic and modern look. No shimmer. All matte eye with a wing and very sculpted skin. Far more editorial in my opinion.

Realistically, either of these looks would be beautiful. It really depends most on the style of dress I end up picking. We’re going dress shopping early next month. I’m trying on wedding dresses for the first time, which is both nerve racking and incredibly exciting!

NEXT UP: Picking the actual products I want to use on the day!
