Jo Malone English Oak & Redcurrant Candle – Jo Malone makes some of my favorite candles, but because they’re so expensive, I try to only use them for special occasions or when I want to treat myself. Because of that, this candle has lasted for probably 6+ months. I will butcher the description of the scent, but it’s absolutely beautiful. It’s not very sweet, more spicy and woodsy than anything else. The thing I love about Jo Malone is the fact that the scent actually fills up a room. I plan on treating myself to a new candle from them this holiday season!
Beauty Blender Solid Brush Cleanser – I just purchased the Pro version of this bad boy during the Sephora sale. THAT’S how much I love this stuff. Every Sunday I wash my dirty brushes and beauty sponges with it. I’ve tried just about every brush cleanser on the market and this is the only thing that I find works easily and doesn’t leave a residue on my brushes.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Taupe – This will probably forever be my favorite eyebrow pencil. My major gripe with it is the fact that no matter how careful I am, the spoolie will ALWAYS break off. You would think that they would have bee able to solve this problem by now, but no. 7+ pencils in and I’ve had this same problem every time.
Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 01 – These lip perfectos are some of the only lip glosses that I can stand to wear. They are not sticky or gloopy at all, feel hydrating on the lips, and smell like vanilla. I currently have one other color that I’m using, but I plan on picking up more shades soon.
HUM Daily Cleanse Supplements* – I’ve talked about this before, but HUM is my absolute favorite for supplements. I use their Daily Cleanse religiously to help keep my skin clear. It helps remove toxins from your body using a combination of algae and detoxifying herbs.
Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel – I like to use this as almost a serum step. For my skin in particular, I don’t find it hydrating enough to be used alone, but if you had more oily skin, you might love this as a light moisturizer.
Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara – This was just fine. I din’t find that it did anything spectacular for my lashes, but they did look nice. It felt more like a mascara that I would use if I didn’t have any makeup on and just wanted to save on brows and lashes and be out the door.
Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara – I found that this clumped my lashes together way too much to be usable. I found myself wiping off most of the mascara off the wand in order to even make it remotely usable.
Allies Of Skin Fresh Slate Brightening Cleanser + Masque – I love the idea of a cleanser and mask in one. In reality though, I almost exclusively ended up using this as a cleanser. Don’t get me wrong, I loved it as a cleanser and the few times I used it as a mask it was beautiful. but when I thought about what mask I wanted to use that night, this never jumped out as me considering all of my masks are in my bedroom and my cleansers (including this one) live in my bathroom. I think because of that, this got relegated to be a cleanser only. I still think that I would repurchase considering that fact that I really enjoyed it as a second cleanser. It left my skin feeling plump and hydrated and I didn’t feel the need to run and put on the rest of my skincare right after.
I’m very curious to try out some of the other products from Allies of Skin.
Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser – This was fine. I liked to use it as a second cleanse. There was absolutely nothing bad about it. But there was alone nothing that made me WANT to reach for it at night. Considering all of the cleansers that I’ve gone through at this point, I’m really looking for something that is more of an experience. I want every night to feel like a tiny spa moment. This just didn’t do that. It’s a workhorse. It does its job well. It’s just not special. For that reason alone, it’s probably a pass from me. That being said, if you have incredibly sensitive skin, you may like this.
NARS Lipstick in Cruising – My all time favorite nude lipstick. It’s sheer-buildable and every so slightly cool toned. It’s just everything that I look for in a nice lipstick. This is probably my third tube of it and I will for sure pick up a new one!
What was your favorite thing that you finished up last month?
